Our girls have “taken over the egg business” as they’ve been saying. They are now fully in charge of all chicken related things - collecting eggs, keeping up on clean food/water, etc. We monitor just to make sure things are up to snuff but they’ve been doing great! All the sales from our pastured chicken eggs go to them. They then purchase any supplemental feed the chickens need (on top of our bug population the chickens have been decimating) and reap the benefits of the leftover profit! It’s been a great learning excitement for them. In fact, they’ve loved it so much they decided to expand their flock! They had a hen hatch six new chicks just a few days ago. We’re hoping it’s more hens than roosters!
